Diagnostic & Medication Specialist
Sometimes the changes are obvious. Sometimes you just have a feeling something isn't right.
They may be getting good grades and doing everything right, while underneath they're exhausted, anxious, and putting enormous pressure on themselves.
The goal is to put anxiety in its place so it does not get in the way of your child becoming who they are meant to be.
You don't have to figure this out alone. We'll help you understand what's going on, and what comes next.
Different conditions often present in surprisingly similar ways. Here's what that can actually look like.
Can present asdifficulty concentrating, restlessness, racing thoughts, an inability to settle, looking like they can't focus.
These symptoms can sometimes resemble ADHD.
Can present assleeping much more, withdrawing from friends, loss of motivation, loss of interest, looking unmotivated.
These symptoms may actually represent depression rather than lack of effort.
Can present asirritability, explosive reactions, intense mood shifts, frequent conflict, emotional reactivity.
These symptoms can sometimes be mistaken for substance use.
Can present asperfectionism, repetitive reassurance seeking, intrusive thoughts, rituals, excessive checking.
These symptoms can sometimes resemble autism spectrum traits.
That's why we take the time to understand what's really going on before recommending treatment. Children and teens don't always show mental health conditions the way adults do.
